Buying a cot bed in Spain: four Ingvart convertible cots stocked in Valencia
Ingvart makes solid-wood convertible cots at its factory in Mykolaiv, Ukraine, and in Spain they are sold by Cunas Bebè, a family-run shop with a warehouse in Valencia. There are four models, and all of them work as bedside cribs. The longest-lasting, Smart Bed, starts as a small round crib and ends up as a table with two chairs that a child uses until around ten.
Cunas Bebè, Ingvart's representative in Spain, is the family business of Iuliia Medynskaia, publisher of SunClub Network magazine.

Baby furniture tends to arrive in instalments. First a Moses basket for the early months, then a cot, then a toddler bed, and later a little table and chair for drawing. A convertible cot bed covers all of that with one piece of furniture that you take apart and rebuild in a new shape as your child grows.
Ingvart makes these cots at its factory in Mykolaiv, Ukraine. In Spain they are sold through Cunas Bebè, the family business of Iuliia Medynskaia, publisher of SunClub Network, which ships from its warehouse in Valencia to anywhere on the mainland. Buying here also means you are not paying to ship a bulky cot from abroad.
Four models and how long each one lasts
Prices are as of October 2026. None of the cots comes with a mattress.
Smart Bed 9-in-1: up to age 10
This is Ingvart's oval cot and the one with the most stages. For the first months it goes together as a small round crib, which can be set up with a changing top. It then becomes a bedside crib, a full-size cot and a playpen, and from about five it turns into a small sofa. Its last form is a table with two chairs that a child can use until around ten. It runs on lockable wheels, takes a rocking pendulum sold separately, and has a holder for a canopy. It comes in 60 cm and 72 cm widths and six colours, and costs €699.
According to the manufacturer's 2020 declaration of conformity, Smart Bed meets the European safety standards EN 716 (cots), EN 1130 (cribs and cradles) and EN 1725 (beds).
Nika 5-in-1: up to age 5
A rectangular cot whose base tilts by 5°. Ingvart designed the tilt for babies who bring up a lot of milk, but ask your paediatrician or health visitor before you use it. The base has five height settings, and one side drops down so the cot can sit flush against your bed. The pendulum, which rocks lengthways and sideways, and the lockable wheels are included. In the 60 cm version the sleeping area is 60 × 95 cm for a newborn and 60 × 120 cm later on, and there is a wider 70 cm version too. It comes in white, graphite or natural wood for €699.
Boho 4-in-1
A solid alder frame with padded bouclé panels. It starts as a 70 × 90 cm crib for a newborn and then becomes a cot, a playpen and a children's sofa, all three at 70 × 134 cm. The base has five heights, the drop side has a safety lock, and there is a 5° tilt. It is in stock in Valencia at €850.
Fly 3-in-1
Also alder and bouclé, with soft padded wings on each side. It has three forms: a cot until age three, a bedside crib that attaches to the parents' bed, and a children's sofa that lasts until about seven. The sleeping area is 66 × 136 cm, or 66 × 166 cm with the optional extension kit. It is in stock in Valencia at €850.
Sleeping close without sharing your bed
A bedside crib, called a cuna colecho in Spain, attaches to the side of your bed with one side open. Your baby sleeps on their own firm mattress, and you can reach them for night feeds without getting up. All four Ingvart cots can be set up this way.
There should be no gap between the two mattresses, so the cot base has to line up with the top of yours. Nika, Boho and Fly have five height settings for this. Check that the cot is held firmly against the bed, and raise and lock the side again whenever the cot stands on its own.
The mattress is extra
For Nika and Smart Bed the shop sells mattresses cut to the exact shape of the cot, with three fillings: coconut fibre (the firmest), coconut with latex, and foam. Prices run from €73 to €165 depending on size and filling. Smart Bed uses two sizes, a round mattress for the crib stage and an oval one once it becomes a full cot. For Fly and Boho, the shop will confirm the right size on WhatsApp.
Ingvart's coconut mattresses, with or without latex, meet EN 16890, the European standard for cot and crib mattresses, according to the manufacturer's declaration.
Delivery, returns and guarantee
Delivery is free anywhere on mainland Spain. Anything in stock in Valencia arrives within one to three working days. Colours and sizes made to order take four to six weeks, and the product page shows the exact lead time once you pick an option. Delivery to the Balearic and Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla is quoted separately.
You have 14 days from delivery to cancel the purchase without giving a reason. The customer pays for the return, and for a cot that is not cheap, so message the shop first and they will help you find the most affordable transport. Cots made to order in a special finish or size are excluded from this right. Spanish law gives you a three-year guarantee against manufacturing defects.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a cot bed last?
It depends on the model. Nika lasts until about five, Fly as a sofa until seven, and Smart Bed until around ten, by which point it has become a table with two chairs.
Do I need a bedside crib or a cot bed?
With these models you do not have to choose. Each one works as a bedside crib for the first months and then moves away from your bed as a standalone cot.
What size mattress does a cot bed need?
For Ingvart cots it depends on the model and stage. Nika takes 60 × 95 cm and then 60 × 120 cm. Smart Bed takes a round 60 × 72 or 72 × 72 cm mattress first and a 60 × 120 or 72 × 120 cm oval one later.
Is the mattress included?
No, not with any model. Made-to-measure mattresses for Nika and Smart Bed are sold in the same shop from €73.
How long does delivery take in Spain?
Cots in stock in Valencia arrive in one to three working days, free on the mainland. Made-to-order options take four to six weeks.
Where are Ingvart cots made?
At Ingvart's factory in Mykolaiv, Ukraine, from solid wood with non-toxic finishes.
Do Ingvart cots meet EN 716?
Smart Bed does: the manufacturer's 2020 declaration of conformity lists EN 716, EN 1130 and EN 1725. The coconut mattresses meet EN 16890. You can ask the shop for the documents before you buy.
When should I buy a cot?
A month or two before your due date, so you can put it together without rushing. If you choose a made-to-order colour or size, allow an extra four to six weeks.
